FAQ

Do I need a physician's referral to be treated at Reaper Physical Therapy, Inc?

No. In Arkansas, Physical Therapists have "direct access" to treat patients. However, many insurance plans require a physician's referral. If your insurance carrier requires a referral, you still have the right to choose your own therapist. Let your physician know your choice.

What should I wear for my appointments?

Loose comfortable clothes that you will be able to move around in easily are the best. Clothing appropriate for a gym setting is best; particularly clothing that allows easy access to the body part we are treating (e.g. shorts for knee patients, tank top for shoulder patients). Closed toe (tennis) shoes are preferable for exercise and they are safer.

Who will I be seeing?

Your appointments are always with one of our licensed therapists or at times a licensed therapist assistant. The majority of the time you will be assigned to that same therapist for the duration of your care.

Is in there anything I need to bring?

If your insurance is paying, please bring a copy of your card. If you have any X-ray, MRI, or other reports it would be good to bring those. If you have a doctor's referral, bring that too.

How long will each treatment last?

Treatment sessions vary but normally each treatment lasts 60-90 minutes. We do not put a time limit on your visit.

Will I have to do exercises?

Therapeutic exercise is a very important component of your rehabilitation program. Compliance with a home exercise program will facilitate recovery, make changes from physical therapy more permanent, and help prevent risk of re-injury. The exercises are always performed at the clinic first before it is prescribed for your home program to make sure it is done correctly. A handout will be given with diagrams to help you remember your home program.

How many visits will I need?
